Morning All

Here is the marriage :

18 Sept 1882 - St John, Halesowen
Alfred Hackett, 25, B, Labourer, of Spring Hill, Hasbury, Father Samuel Hackett, Labourer
Caroline Hackett, 25, S, Domestic Servant of Cornbow, Borough, Father Simeon Hackett, Nail Maker
Joseph Higgs and Martha White

Trouble is, I can't find Caroline with her father Simeon (Simon) anywhere. The only Caroline I can find born around that time in the area is in Little Cornbow, Halesowen with parents Charles and Sarah.

Anyone any ideas please

Thanks Jimmy - that's the one I found - need her with father Simeon though

There isn't one any where, there isn't even a Simeon any where that fits, birth marriage or death.

Hi Maggie there only seems to be the one Simeon, born 1849. I checked my Worcs disc for another older one and there isn't one, so unless he lived somewhere other than Worcestershire, Caroline must have made him up, can't find her on the Census either, only Caroline is the one with father Charles, can we find a marriage for her Linell.

That's what I was thinking Lin - I wonder if Charles Hackett's wife remaried a Simeon - I'll check further census records

Joseph Higgs, one of the witnesses on the marriage marries Elizabeth Hackett in 1880 at St John's Haleesowen. Caroline, daur of Charles has a sister Elizabeth, not with the family in 1881 - family is on BCC here :http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/family-tree/bcconnections/56322/32729/Charles-Hackett-Family

I'll have a look at this marriage - Wondering now if the vicar misheard the name of the brides father, although Simeon doesn't sound very much like Charles
