Can anyone help me with my father's side of the family FLOYD
My father was Frederick John Floyd born in 1941 Died in 2007
He was the son of Bertha Benson and William Albert Floyd
They had a total of 8 children that I know of
Bertha (1926), Jean (1927), Dorothy (1930) Died 1931 aged 1, William K (1933), Gladys (1935), Hilda (1937) and then my father Frederick J (1941)
Any information on my grandfather's parents (I think his father was also William)
or my grandmother's parents. Bertha Benson's mum apparently married twice, first to Floyd and then Ibertson

You know theres another tree on Ancestry with the family names of Floyd and Benson.
A person called Linda Roberts 645

As we have said you really need to verify things, but they have William Albert Floyds father as Frederick A Floyd born 1880 died 1946 and his wife a Mary Elizabeth.
There is this marriage from Lancashire BMD

Also from Jimmy There are 2 Williams living in the house so obviously not brothers??

The marriage for Frederick Arthur Floyd and Mary Bessie Higgins on FreeBMD is 1904 in Fylde
Something isnt adding up
and also when I searched Floyd/Higgins birth on freeBDM it gave me Richard Floyd June 1915 W.Derby

When searched freeBMD Benson/Kelsall it gave a total of 9 births, on one of them being Bertha born 1933
As Bertha Benson married William Albert Floyd in 1925 This can't be right either???

As Bertha Benson married William Albert Floyd in 1925 This can't be right either???

There a few Bertha Bensons born in Lancashire 1900 - 1910. Before third 1/4 1911 you cannot search using mothers maiden name.

This one of the reasons why we say things need to be verified. Its best to be confident in what you have researhed and buying certificates is a good way.
