I've not found much for Thomas, and what I have found I'm really not totally sure about. Ann Matilda pre marriage is all sewn up though! Can anyone see anything I've missed? Thanks. :-)

15th Sept 1862, Parish Church, Dudley.
Thomas Horton, Full, B, Horsenail maker, Dudley, Thomas Horton, Horsenail maker.
Ann Matilda Sidaway, minor, S, Isaac Sidaway, gun barrel whelder.
Both signed, by banns.
Witnesses: Abraham Sidaway X, Ann Jackson.

Links up on BCC here:

Possible 1871:
Union Street, Rowley Regis
Thomas Horton, Head, 28, Chain Maker,
Ann M, Wife, 27, Worcs, Lye
Sarah A, Daur, 7,
Jacob, Son, 5,
Phebe, Daur, 8 months
Others born Rowley Regis.

Possible pre marriage for Thomas:
1861
High Street, Rowley Regis.
Thomas Horton, Head, Married, 59, Nail Forger
Phoebe, Wife, Married, 52
William, Son, Unmarried, 23, Nail Forger
Thomas, Son, Unmarried, 18, Nail Forger
All born Rowley Regis

Neither of these would make him of full age by the time of his marriage, and there' s the change in occupation as well (although that doesn't have to mean much!)

There is a couple of Thomas Hortons around that age with father Thomas but the one you have seems more likely to me.
Jo :)

The question is should I add the info from both census's. I'm mostly inclined to add the census info for Thomas pre marriage, but I'd like to hear what other people think!

Not sure what you mean and not up with the thread
but you add census to head of household checking the image and adding
it exactly as that image not from the index of a search site

is that what you mean?

If you are not sure this is him
1861
High Street, Rowley Regis.
Thomas Horton, Head, Married, 59, Nail Forger
Phoebe, Wife, Married, 52
William, Son, Unmarried, 23, Nail Forger
Thomas, Son, Unmarried, 18, Nail Forger
All born Rowley Regis

you can add it as a possible on Thomas who marries ann notes only

and leave it off father..............as that may not be his father

More of a question of whether it's the correct census for Thomas pre marriage.
The one post marriage I more unsure of, as Ann Matilda is always down as Matilda pre marriage (not that that precludes her husband from calling her Ann!).

I think just add these 2 census as a possible for Thomas

as without getting the certif for one of the kids we dont know mothers maiden name
and if you add the census you have to add the kids on bcc.

So I suggest what you do is add these census both of them with a note as a possible on thomas notes
but dont add the kids for this one
and dont add the info on thomas mother phebe

*Completed* Thomas Horton -----------Snoops adding

Okay, both of the census's are added as possibles on Thomas junior:
