Paid £82.95 - No Records Found - The Sequal

Further to my previous posting on this subject.

Having got nothing but frustration from FindMyPast regarding my getting 'No Records' back each time I searched their BDM for Nottinghamshire I decided I would raise a County Court summons as I'd paid for a service I had not received.

Before doing this I contacted the Head of Customer Services at Brightsolid Online Publishing, the parent company of FindMyPast.

What a difference, an immediate acknowledgement that they had not provided me with what I'd paid for, and a total subscription refund.

Had the matter been dealt with earlier a partial refund may have been applicable as I had used the census records, but at this late stage clearly the trouble I had been put to by the FindMyPast Support Team needed to be addressed in the refund.

Perhaps the outcome to this issue may influence other companies to take a reasonable view as to if a customer has actually received what they paid their money for.

I did point FindMyPast to the number of views of this issue on this forum, I do believe this had an influence on the outcome.

Matter resolved thank you Brightsolid Online Publishing and FindMyPast. :P

I'm really pleased you were able to get a refund, and so you should when it returned no records for you.

Yes ,
Well done RodA... just goes to prove how sometimes it really is worth 'sticking to your guns' with a complaint!
Wonder how many other disgruntled customers there are out there?
