1841 : Aged 25 - Living in Tat Bank Lane, Oldbury - Coal Miner (Also in the house are Henry Harvey with his wife and son - Probably Benjamin's brother
1851 : Aged 34 - Living in Tat Bank Lane, Oldbury - Coal Miner (Also in the house are John and Jane Spooner with their 4 sons) (Henry is now remarried to Frances)
1861 : Aged 48 - Living in Tat Bank, Oldbury - Thick Coal Miner
1871 : Aged 54 - Living in Hobicus Lane, Oldbury - Coal Miner (Benjamin is now married to Maria and has three more children. Also in the house are Maria's children from a previous marriage)
1881 : Aged 65 - Living in Mill Lane, Warley Wigorn, Langley, Oldbury - Gatherer of Rag
