ARC TBC - Hatton of Lambeth

I'm trying to locate any records for a Francis Henry Hatton, born in Lambeth c1841. I am not sure who his parents were, but have census records from 1881, 1891 and 1901 plus his death certificate.
He married Susannah Hatton also born in Lambeth c 1857
Her parents were John Hatton b1834 and Susannah Brooks b 1834
I have found records for a Francis Henry Hatton b1841, but he would have been her Uncle, and brother of John.
Can anyone help shed any light on either birth or their marriage?
Thanks

I assume that this is your group in the 1881 census at 4 Goding St
Feis Henry Hatton 40
Susannah Hatton 24
Francis Henry Hatton 3
William John Hatton 2
And that this is them in1891 in lambeth
Henry Hatton 40
Susan Hatton 35
Henry Hatton 13
William Hatton 12
Charlotte Hatton 8
Rosie Hatton 7
Joseph Hatton 14
Elizabeth Hatton 1
John Stoneman 25
I notice that Francis Henry is much closer in age to Susannah on this census - this is also true on the 1901 census so I would suggest looking for him to be born more around 1850 than 1840
In 1861 There is a Henry born 1848 that is an inmate of the boys refuge that might be worth looking into. Have you gotten any of the children's birth records to see exactly hhow his name was listed - Francis Henry or Henry Francis, etc?

Hi
Just to be clear....
1877 marriage at Lambeth
Susan East m George Knapp
Francis Henry Hatton m Eliza Elizabeth Hornblower
Right? And this Francis Henry is not the one you want.
Yours is in the 1881 census
Fcis Henry Hatton 40
Susannah Hatton 24
Francis Henry Hatton 3
William John Hatton 2
Can I ask how you know Susannah' parents are John Hatton and Susahhan Brooks? Do you have a birth certificate for one of Francis Henry's children?
Given that Francis Henry who married Elizabeth is 22 in 1881 and 33 in 1891, and a potters labourer/kiln burner, then is he the Francis H aged 12 in 1861 who is the son of John and Susan ie brother to Susannah ? (just trying to sort things out in my head!)
So, that leaves you looking for
1881: Francis Henry aged 40 potters? labourer (Susannah aged 24)
1891 Henry aged 40 Potters labourer (Susan aged 36)
1901 Francis Henry aged 46 labourer bricklayer (Susan aged 46)
Is that about it?
I can't find Louisa Hatton (Susannah's grandmother)in the 1851 census at all. Do you have her then?

Thanks for the (very) detailed reply
1st yes, Francis Henry b1859 married Eliza Hornblower 9I have their marriage cert)
Mine is the one named as Feis in the 1881 census
I have the birth cert of Susannah b1857 daughter of John/Susannah
It seems that in each subsequent census Francis (1841) changes his age
Louisa (susannah's gmother) died in 1873 in Lambeth Workhouse, but her husband Thomas died 1849 Have not been able to (yet) track down 1851 census
Now going backwards (easier for me to explain)
My g-grandfather was Francis Henry Hatton b1877 (birth marriage and death certs) His parents were Francis Henry Hatton and Susannah Hatton (nee Hatton)
Francis H (his daddy) was according to various census born between 1841 and 185?. His death cert confirms the 1841 date (confirmed by last living g-nephew)
I cannot find any birth cert for FH (1841) or marriage cert for a FH and Susannah
Francis Henry who married Eliza was his uncle (that is m g-grandfathers uncle)
Going backwards, Thomas and Louisa had a son b1841 named..... Francis Henry. So circumstantial evidence suggest that Francis and Susannah were Uncle/niece living as husband/wife
Confused yet? I am

Thanks again
Paul

Is this still a Brick Wall?
Or have you solved it?
Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to archived section

Still a brick wall, and I suspect will be for some time to come.
Have found Francis Henry baptism, which adds a little more evidence that they were related.
As there have been no posts for some time, please feel free to archive
Thanks
Paul

Not sure if this is still active, so I have "joined", and will just post this before enlarging on "what I have"!!
Seems to be a direct line to my relatives.
