Ok you clever people; here's the latest bit of my family tree based on the distaff side of my mother's family and mainly supplied by my cousin's wife. I'm currently putting together her father's side from the information supplied by my cousin's wife as well as my own investigations so I'm not in need of any help there yet, but if you're bored, and would like to cast an eye over the tree, you might like to check out what we've done and contribute any comments on the Hillman/Silsby family lines.

It's mainly been deduced by cross referencing indeces etc. We don't have entries, certificates or licences.

Thanks Jimmy that's brilliant, I'm pretty certain it's the Phillip Sidney/Edith Matilda ones but I'm more interested (at the moment) with any further info on the Hillman/Silsby side, give us a chance to track the Haineses ourselves for a bit.

I'd found that one but wasn't sure firstly if Frances would have become Fanny in the later census (possibly Franny mistranscribed especially if Silsby was mistranscribed as Selsby) and secondly I couldn't track her down either as Peirce (which I think tends to be West Country) or Pierce.

Other lines of attack we've drawn a bit of a blank on are Win(n)ifred Hillman's siblings. Of course they're a bit recent to show up on census.

There are photographs at http://s715.photobucket.com/albums/ww15 ... es_Family/

with the one at http://i715.photobucket.com/albums/ww156/The_Haines_Family/Hillmanweddingmaybe02.png one showing my Nan (on the right) and her sister as bridesmaids.

As you can see there are definitely family facial characteristics.

The previous picture shows another (probably earlier) Hillman wedding.

  Oh goodness you dont know what you are missing! All the excitement waiting for it to arrive!
You should really, its the only way to confirn you are following the right people.

Fanny is often a nickname for Frances. That marriage isnt correct actually, that Frances married Henry Longhurst!
