I think Elizabeth's father was George not Joseph and this is confirmed by her stepfather, John Hobbs being with William & Elizabeth Forrest in 1881, and her stepbrother, Uriah Hobbs, with them in 1891.

Can anyone see anything to confirm that I have the right William Forrest?

and would someone please give me an opinion on my conclusions about Elizabeth Humphries' father. I'm reluctant to go against the evidence of the marriage look-up, but can't see another explanation... unless her mum, Eliza, had another marriage to a Joseph Humphries in between Joseph and John Hobbs???
