I am looking for any information on the ancestors of Thomas Murphy b abt 1855 Barnsley, York and Charlotte Golding b abt 1856 Durham. They had ten children: Kate, William, Mary, Sarah, Thomas, Edward, Robert, Ellen (Nellie), John (Jack), Richard.

You will need certificates otherwise you will never be able to prove you have the right family, need to work backwards from your Grandparents, and buy their Marriage or Birth Certificates, most important if you want to make sure you are on the right track. HTH Linell.

I haven't found any further information about Thomas Murphy but have discovered more about Charlotte Golding/Golden.
