Thanks sparkstopper, I'm a bit pushed for time over the next week or so but I can spend some time there later in the month.

Thanks mallosa, I'd already got that, I was hoping for a bit more but realise it's tricky, distaff side, common names etc.

Thanks peterd, that looks like the info I'd picked up but couldn't confirm or identify the source. Trouble was I'd been building large images for web pages and testing them on line so my cache etc. were stuffed and my machine running ever so slowly, like an idiot I ran CCleaner which also wiped my browsing history.

Again, thanks to all 'the Staffies', you lot are marvellous.

you can visit the archives at either Sandwell or Dudley and look up the marriages at the archives

Now we do have a list running in the Look up requests section
entitled
Post your dudley and smethwick look ups here
but...it is only if and when someone goes and if they have time

so if you want to post there pls do but they may or may not get done

the last number...is the actual entry in the PR so armed with that we can go straight to the year
