I really have hit a brick wall with this one. If anyone has any information, however small, of the Ruane/Rowan family of County Mayo, I would be very interested in hearing from you. My G-Grandfather was Anthony Ruane/Rowan, who I believe was from Killala, and born in 1860. He married Ann/Annie Lyons. They migrated to Cheshire in the 1890's and he died aged 40 in Hoole Workhouse. I would absolutely love to find out the names of his parents and to have confirmation of where he was born - too much to hope for but worth a try.....
