My husband keeps forgetting to collect Jørgen (his teddy) from his mothers - it's in the loft, or so he hopes!
I still have my Ragetty Ann (my gran worked in the US when I was a small child), my teddy somehow lost its arms when I was small (must have been my older sister!)

I had a lego train set, that was great - batteries were expensive though, so I envy your wind up motor!

It didn't last very long - I had three little sisters - it soon got overwound. I remember my dad trying to mend it but he wasn't known for his endless patience and it probably ended up being thrown out of the window, like other things he tried to fix.

I was luckier, I only have a big sister, and she was never interested in "boys" toys, so I got to play in peace with that sort of toy! Now everything else, she'd "borrow" if it took her fancy!

If you can't look after a Teddy Bear, how would you manage to look after a Gold Fish.

I don't think we were so bothered where things came from, I remember my Dad made us bunk beds for our sindy dolls, with bedding made by my Mum, we also had stilts and a sledge my Dad had made and dolls clothes Mum had knitted or sewed- probably didn't cost very much, but we never noticed!

I still have my teddy that was bought by my uncle when I was born. He used to go all over with me and sat and watched by kids when they were little too.
