Woodall's are bugging me, bigtime!!!! Completed

My problem is I get conflicting results coming up!!!
I have Matilda Woodall (sometimes spelt Woodhall) who is my Great great grandmother. She was born on 13th February 1852 Dixons Green, Dudley. Birth Certificate has her parents down as Mary Ann Taylor and Joseph Woodall. No problems there.
My main question is where do Joseph and Mary Ann disappear to from 1971 until Joseph turns up in 1901?
I have them on the 1861 census:
WOODALL, Joseph Head Married M 35 1826 Puddler Dudley Worcestershire
WOODALL, Mary Ann Wife Married F 30 1831 Dudley Worcestershire
WOODALL, Joseph Son M 14 1847 Coal Miner Dudley Worcestershire
WOODALL, Matilda Daughter F 8 1853 Scholar Dudley Worcestershire
WOODALL, Henry Son M 2 1859 Scholar Dudley Worcestershire
I have Mary Ann Taylor and Joseph Woodall's marriage certificate: 1st March 1847 in Kingswinford. They are living at Dixon's Green, Dudley on the 1851 census with sons Joseph and Thomas.
I can't find them in 1871, only another Joseph and Mary Ann, living in Church Street, Dudley.
The "wrong" Woodall's turn up again in 1881,1891and 1901, again in Church Street.
My Joseph Woodall is on the 1901 census, living with Matilda who is now married to David Jones and living at 8 Oak Road, West Bromwich. Can't quite make up my mind as to whether or not he's a widower.
I have a possible for Matilda in 1871, lodging in Rotherham, Yorks. At the same address is a David Jones:
PITT, Edward Head M 30 1841 Worcestershire
BEESE, Eliza Daughter F 31 1840 Worcestershire
BEESE, Annie Daughter F 8 1863 Worcestershire
BEESE, James Son M 5 1866 Worcestershire
JONES, David Lodger M 21 1850 Worcestershire
WOODALL, Matilda Lodger F 20 1851 Worcestershire (on image Dudley)
Can somebody help?
