Hi

I am having real problems researching a chap called John Parks, born St mary's, Yorkshire in September 1881. He served in the Yorkshire Regt 1901 - 1907 and I have 40 pages of service record which give his date/place of birth, his mother's name as Francis (sic) of 23 Fletcher St, Middlesbro and brothers called James and Joseph.

The problem is that no matter what i do i can't find him or his family on Ancestry. There is a Francis Parks living in Co Durham in the 1881 census but I am not convinced there's any connection

Any suggestions?

Eddie

Blooney 'eck as we say here in Guernsey - that was quick. For some reason I was looking at Parks and Park and not Parkes! Silly me!

Was that on Ancestry?

Thank you so much - I guess the wall is down for a bit at any rate!
