There's a massive tree in Slavacentre - looks really good - no tinsel, but really big balls

I like the twig ones mine has a bottom bit that goes round and changes the colour. We have a different colour theme for the dining room every year and hang balls on ribbon from the ceiling it looks really nice. Had the ceiling replastered though since last Christmas, so no more drawing pins. Have to think of an alternative this year.

Why did I find it amusing that the two topics next to each other are "Office Parties" and "Who has got their tree up yet?"
Probably too much Benny Hill and Carry On movies have turned everything into a double entendre
Anyway, X-Mas trees are not supposed to go up till a fortnight before, which is the 11th, and not taken down till a fortnight after.
This is according to my super superstitious mother who has kittens if we break any of her good luck/bad luck taboos.
We are still using the one wifey and I purchased our second X-Mas together.
The first X-Mas we purchased a real one which was really dead and stinky by the 25th.
Also, the next person who refers to the Angel on top of the tree as a "Fairy" will find the point end of aforementioned tree up their posterior.

OK, on the 11th, I shall cart my fibre optic tree out from the store-room (that's the 3rd bedroom actually), whisk off the plastic rubbish bag, and there it is already decorated! Ta-dah!
I really do miss the real ones, though ...
goes mist-eyed and nostalgic ... The plastic ones just don't smell like Chistmas.
At least I don't have to see the poor old dry and brown one on the rubbish heap in January, waiting for the end of fire restrictions before it can have its funeral pyre. It used to make me feel so disloyal and sad - its little brown needles and twigs with just a glint of forgotten tinsel peeping out
