Hi folks,
looking for help again please, this time with the 1871 census...
William Parrish born 1845 Brierley Hill Kingswinford and Caroline born 1849 Kingswinford.
Married 1868 in Birmingham.
I have them both in 61 census (pre marriage) in Kingswinford
and I have them in 81 census together in Kingswinford
However I cannot find them in 71?
In 68 they had a daughter Mary Ann (born Birmingham, aston) who in 71 is living with her Grandparents (Norwood: Carolines Parents) In Kingswinford...
So where are Mom and Dad?
Hopeing you can help
thanks

Going by the birth place of the first 2 children, they could be in the Birmingham area.
1881. Kingswinford.
William Parrish 36. Brockmoor.
Caroline Parrish 31. Buckpool.
Mary Ann Parrish 12. Bham, Warwickshire.
Thomas Parrish 7. Bham, Warwickshire.
Ann Maria Parrish 5. Brockmoor.
Elizabeth Parrish 2. Bromley.

Are those all the same family ?
So children that appear
Mary Ann b 1868 -- in 1871 with Grandparents, 1881 with parents
Thomas b 1874 -- 1881 with parents
Ann Maria b 1876 -- 1881 & 1891 with parents,
Elizabeth b 1879 -- 1881 with parents
Harriett b 1884 -- 1901 with parents
George b 1890 -- 1911 with mother
Louisa b 1892 -- 1911 with mother
well that is 7 children still alive but they don't seem to spend large amounts of time with parents -- they seem to be on a rota!
and who does John William grandson belong to?

Thank guys, yes that is them..
though not in 1911 mathgirl
In 1891 they were living at 48 adams street, aston, birmingham.
Caroline died in 1901 in aston, obviously after the census was taken lol and joh died in 1907.
If they were in birmingham in 71 I cannot find them
thanks all x

Elizabeth b 1879 -- 1881 with parents
Harriett b 1884 -- 1901 with parents
Ok so you have the above plus Emily b 1882
My guess is that Mary Ann was with Grandparents while they had another baby in 1871 -- as that is a big gap 1868 - 1874 for someone who then went on to have babies the standard every 2-3 years.
Any more Parrish children born right area 1870-1871 who might be siblings? -- if there arenot too many births that cannot be accounted for on the census it might be worth looking for baptisms before the ultimate of speculating on birth certificates.!
