John Blakeway - Lenches War Memorial

BLAKEWAY John
9747 Private: Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) (formerly 26297 Worcestershire Regiment).
Killed in action 5th November 1917. Aged 19.
Born: Blackheath. Enlisted: Birmingham.
Son of John and Sarah Ann Blakeway, of 82 Hackett Street, Blackheath.
Buried: The Huts Cemetery, Ypres, Flanders. XIV.B.17.

Could this be John with his parents ...here

Can anyone see this family in 1911 please?

I think his name has been transcribed wrong - because the ages of the children go in order usually - I'm not at home at the moment, but I'll have a look at the picture in about an hour and check

Managed to get into my account from here - the age is 3 on the image

There are similarities with the families - there are two children aged 1 - usually they would be recorded as twins - I think there has been a No 1 missing off the age for John and Rebecca. Wonder where they would have been christened? I'll have a look at St Giles

I was going to add this but I dont think we have enough evidence to prove this is the same John Blakeway :?

I was going to add this but I dont think we have enough evidence to prove this is the same John Blakeway :?



stick it in the military section might be something extra on next of kin in his records if they exist ?

any electrol rolls for 82 hackett st might show some older male siblings ?
