Not my cup of tea either. My parents local theatre used to put on a seasonal play instead, something like Hans Christian Andersen's Snow Queen - much better.

Snap I don't like them , I did when I was young and put up with them when I took my children and just avoid them altogether now.
I would think a good play like near your mum Snoopy is much better.

I used to be Santa Clause each year for several childrens hospitals but gave it up when new "rules" took the fun out of it.
You would think the thousands of kids had been molested by Santas with the new restrictions they enforced.
When I challenged them to give me one instance in the history of Australia where a Santa was found to have molested a kid in public I met with stony silence.
They changed Santa from being "Ho Ho Ho" to "No No No".
As for pantomines. Any live performer who can keep children amused in this age of computers and cable TV earns my respect.

The Theatre's got a good reputation, gets people coming from Manchester and Liverpool area and has decent parking facilities, it's not that much further from BC! (No I don't have shares in the place -it was always a good night out)

I saw Father Christmas today - going across the Wolverhampton Road by the Wernley in a dark green Corsa - and no, I hadn't been in for a drink. Is the first sighting of the year? And - talking about Father Christmas, our kids love to watch him go around the world every year on NORAD the official Santa Tracker.

Just remember the rules if your kids are going to have photos taken with Santa.
a) Both of Santa's hands must be visible in the photographs.
b) Both boy and girls are only permitted to sit on the thigh and not the lap.
c) No straddling the thigh, you must sit side saddle.
d) Santa is not permitted to whisper in your ear.
e) Santa is not to promise that you will get what you ask for.
f) You may give Santa a peck on the cheek. He is not permitted to kiss you at all.
If Santa breaks any of these rules makes sure he is arrested and thrown in gaol for being a dirty old pervert.
