Where are Electoral Rolls kept, and how do I access them - I'm interested in the period from about 1928 onwards. What information is there other than name and address?

What area are you looking for Sue - Sandwell Archives keep records for certain years for Tipton, West Bromwich and Rowley Regis, but you have to know the name of the street. Dudley Archives have really good records for the area that they cover.

I'm looking for John Howard Jinks he came back from Canada in 1928, two of his kids followed the year after all gave their address as 12 Claypit Lane (John's mothers home). I have a John Howard Jinks who lived at Beechholme, Beeches Road in West Bromwich in 1965 at the time of his death - I have no proof positive that this is the same man. I thourght maybe the electoral rolls would help. I'm also looking for his son Albert J Jinks who was born in Canada about 1925, I have a possible death for him in 1991.

That'd be great!

I forgot to say I've looked for both of them in the phone book, with no luck.
