Do you have his birth cert Pete? - there is only one George Evans born around that time in Dudley - there are others born in Kingswinford, Rowley and Sedgley, who may have been baptised at St Thomas, details are DUD/096/129 - Dudley Register Office. What other census records do you have him on ?

Yes what other census info do you have on him

didn't we find George with a sarah in Kingswinford
and that marriage he was a victualler John married to Sarah...can't remember now
long ago.....I looked up that marriage you got details still?

Looks like first son named after both G. parents

and looked up the Mary Shin and Love one
think father was diff on those for JOhn

Q why is she Sarah Betty then marries as Downing?
I remember this being a really weird one.
