Then I have to go back to the homepage /portal again to get in
it happens when I put post on

anyone else having it
the post is shown but that message comes up

General Error? I looked up the service records on Ancestry and Find My Past and could find no record of him. When was he born?

I did find Major Catastrophe, Corporal Punishment and Private Parts.

I have also lost email notification on posts after I have posted.

Yes I've had this too - October 11th - kept getting this message all day.

Really frustrating - so switched off computer - was fixed following day -
but suspect a lot of users were also annoyed.

Shows how much we rely on our computers though!!

OMG - it's happened again!!!

I havent been able to delete a post either.
It must be a little blip.
Im sure Admin will get it sorted soon for us.

The search index has unfortunately suffered a corruption issue for the second time. I've now rebuilt this and switched to a more efficient type of search indexing. In theory, this means all of the search data has been rebuilt into a fresh indexing table, which should remove any risk of a further issue.

That said, if anyone should experience the issue again in the next few hours, it would be extremely helpful to have a copy of the text you were trying to post so I can hunt down any possible corrupt search terms. The site now has something like 1.3 million search index records, so tracking down a minor issue within them can be like finding a needle in a haystack!

Apologies to anyone who experienced frustration not being able to post.
