A job well done!

Had a bit of decorating done over last 3 weeks
and I have to say I am not the easiest customer.....no really I aint!

And the guy came up trumps!
Courteous, considerate and a first class job!
So thank you Mark White of Wolverhampton!
1st Class decorator.

I have a bit of an attention to detail problem and he handled that really well.
Didn't know what a brew was ....think he thought I was getting him pie eyed!
but of course it means a cuppa tea! up north.
He asked if he could have his radio on and covered all carpets up where necessary,
brought his own flask, and generally got on with the job.

I had to get rid of a carpenter I had round (won't go into that) and so
it was a pleasure to have someone that did exactly what it says on the tin!
A good days work for a days pay.

It made me think how much we put up with when people do jobs at our house
I had one guy give me a price and then when I went to pay him he said "oh is it not
cash? oh well I will have to put vat on that"
I told him where he could stick his vat and said cheque or nought.

Never pay for a job till it is done, get quotes, get refs if poss and don't take no .....thingy!

Brew - isn't that nationally if not internationally understood? Would he have understood "a cup of char", or as it was at home "Polly" as in put the kettle on!

My other half whose english isn't that good has got the nack of saying "put the kettle on" with (almost) a West Bromwich accent - as when my old folks are visiting it's the first thing out anybodies mouth on getting home!! He's not a tea drinker, so he rolls his eyes  - don't know what he'd do in a crisis

 Poor lad, he should have just asked for a "pace" (excuse the spelling)!
In danish "barm" means something entirely different!
