Is there a web page where you can find out what money from the 1800's would be worth today please.

i think it must be a very rough calculation because different things have changed a lot in price haven't they? I mean, tea used to be really really expensive but it isn't now.

Try this one, it gives different values depending on what you're interested in. Compared with today the cost of food and other goods was a higher proportion of peoples income than it is today.
