We have so many Joseph and Mary Hacketts in the RR area
having kids
Joseph and Mary poss b abt 1770
I think we can merge some of them
I am sure that the name Ragan is significant with a family
There is this lot
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... d=88621465and this lot
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =266174774and this lot
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =155163048can we sort them out into the correct families

Hi NL
I think that age is wrong and the entry should be:
1841
Joseph Hackett 33 nailor y
Elizabeth ditto 12 y
Ragane ditto 10 y
Leah Smith 30 nailor y
Jane ditto 1 y
I think if Ragan was 30 he would have had an occupation.

James ditto 9 y

Agreed think that Joseph is this one
JOSEPH HACKETT
Christening: 15 OCT 1797 Rowley Regis, Stafford,
Parents:
Father: JOSEPH HACKETT
Mother: MARY
Extracted
and I think brother of the Ragan we have on
this Joseph I think has dau Elizabeth and son Ragan b 1831
and then marries in 1841 Leah Smith

Yes I think so
I am not sure on that Joseph now
his age is 44 in 1851 ...the one that marries Leah Smith

Just that name Ragan is so unusual
I thought that Joseph may be the one bapt in 1797
but on census his age is coming out b abt 1808 ish
but he calls son RAgan...so I think they link somehow

I think so, yes to both.
This is the marriage to Leah (IGI extracted)
Joseph Hackett to Leah Smith or Hill
4th July 1841 Old Swinford
do you know why she is or Hill?

I also agree to both , just trying to gets the dates worked out, Ragan is an unusual name so must be the same family,

The marriage for Sarah Hackett to Mark Parsons has a Thomas Hackett as witness - could be her brother.

So do we think that that bapt in 1797 is not this Joseph
but
that this Joseph who marries Leah Smith links to this family with brother Ragan/Ragoul bapt in 1808
and sister Sarah who calls her son Ragan Parsons
if so I can add him in with a note and the reasoning
I can look up that marriage too in 1841
what do we think
then I can merge sarah at least
yes?

Just that bapt in 1797 wonder if mistranscribed
and maybe is 1807?
the ances trees have him as Joseph Ralph Hackett
b 1797
but the census disputes that
