My other half is running his first marathon today!
It's the Hans Christian Andersen Marathon in Odense in Denmark. If you ask me he's totally mad, but there you go.
I'm just glad it's not me

Today it's the "dam tot dam loop"
10 English miles(is that a marathon?).
The Dam in Amsterdam to the Dam in Zaandam !!
Hans Christian Anderson Marathon ?
They couldn't call it anything else could they? I mean who else is famous from Denmark?

It's just over 42 km for a marathon, if memory serves that's 26 miles.
He came in at 3 hours 50 mins, which was 10 mins faster than his goal, so he's well chuffed!
HC Andersen came from Odense, so as you say what else could they call it:

It was the Great North Run today in Newcastle I think thats a half marathon? My sons girlfriend has done it, took her 2 hrs 26 mins. Really pleased for her too!
My hubby is due back soon, hes been doing the West Highland Way. Not running it mind!

The mad thing's gone cycling this evening (with the running club!)
Yesterday evening we were over at my mother in laws; my brother in law nearly got a smack in the face - the rest of the family thourght it was quite an achievment, especially as the rest of us are't that fit, or disciplined, but my charming b.i.l. didn't think it was any great accomplishment

.
Then later on he was bragging about how he thourght it was "something" to be able to get home (about 6km on narrow unlit lanes) on rollerskates when he's drunk. I had to count to 100, so as not to say something I regretted (along the lines of it was something, but that something was along the lines of irresponsible, stupid, insane etc etc).
