I have a data base of over 10K names worldwide and covering 500 years - and ALL the Jabezes are in the Northampton/Staffordshire region in the middle of the 1800s. I have noticed some other postings with Jabezes mentioned in the same time period and area
Why was the name so popular there and then? Was there a notable soldier/politician, prizefighter/ pirate, WHY in the region by that name?

Is it a biblical name? Nearly all my family had biblical names. I wonder if a preacher kept using the same story? Is it from the old testament?
