I have information on this family, even though I'm not connected to them and will put info on BCC when the internet is working a little faster. Sooo slow this afternoon.

I've not been able to find the marriage of George Reading and Emily either.

I found an entry on freebmd that had no females on it.

I went and checked the pages for possible Hodgetts same month and year but nothing on freebmd on the view images thingy .
I really thought it was just going to be missing from the indexes

There's a Will for Martha Reading, see BC Archives, I have these notes:-
A letter of administration of the personal estate of Martha, from the District Registery of Lichfield, gave her address as Shut End Staffordshire. Probate was granted to her son George Reading, 'the natural and lawful son and one of the next of kin' one hundred pounds, the gross value of Martha's Estate, dated 5.11.1891.

I don't know who Emily was either, would be good to find it. Linell.

Have added info for George Reading and his family on BCC. One of his daughters is Polly who married Frank Powis, I've also added the Powis family on as well.

Need a couple of marriage look-ups, will put on the appropriate list.

I couldnt see a birth for Laura but possibly for Polly

That is Ellen Reading Jo, I have no idea of why she was living with 84 year old Abraham Bennett I couldn't find a family connection I would imagine the 'adopted daughter' was perhaps just a throw away line to the Census Enumerator, perhaps she was some sort of Servant and they didn't want to think she was being exploited? Who knows Linell.
