Hi everyone,
Yes I have somemore information
I've found James & his wife on the 1891 census
Hugglescote and Donington
Ecclesiastical parish: Hugglescote
White Hill
Leicestershire
Registration district: Ashby De La Zouch
John Brooks 35
Jane Brooks 34
Thomas Brooks 9
Annie Brooks 7
Arthur Brooks 6
Walter Brooks 5
John W Brooks 8/12
James Batty 58
Hannah Batty 60
I then found a death entry:
Name: Hannah Batty
Estimated birth year: abt 1828
Year of Registration: 1892
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Age at Death: 64
District: Ashby de la Zouch
County: Derbyshire, Leicestershire
This matched James's wife and tied in with him re-marrying in Dudley that was confirmed by Northern lass:
15 April 1894 St Thomas Dudley
James Batty 55 widower miner Bufferey lane John Batty dead contractor
Ann Green 57 widow Bufferey lane Thomas Cartwright dead miner
banns
X both
Wit- W? Faulks? / ??? Maitland
I've been unable to find James on the 1901 census
I've found him on the 1911:
61 Terrace St, Blackheath, Staffordshire
BENNETT, Levi Head Married M 65 1846 Farm Labourer Warickeshire Wempston
BENNETT, Rosilinda Wife Married F 68 1843 Staffordshire Rowley Regis
BATTY, James Boarder Married M 76 1835 A Coal Miner Underground Staffordshire Rowley Regis
He died in 1920 and according to the above he's still married but no idea where Ann is?
I'm looking for Ann Green nee Cartwright on the census returns and will be back shortly
I would've been in contact sooner but the wifes got me painting all afternoon
Regards
Adrian

Not sure on Ann Cartwrights age
if that is her on census in 1881 and 1891 she is born about 1831
the one with father Thomas is coming out born 1838
so might not be that Thomas Cartwright
think I will just add a note on that entry

I have dropped that marriage in for James
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =557083264I think if we can work out how that Neri Green links to Thomas Green
if that is who she married then it would look ok?

It doesnt look right
If this is him in 1911
1911:
61 Terrace St, Blackheath, Staffordshire
BENNETT, Levi Head Married M 65 1846 Farm Labourer Warickeshire Wempston
BENNETT, Rosilinda Wife Married F 68 1843 Staffordshire Rowley Regis
BATTY, James Boarder Married M 76 1835 A Coal Miner Underground Staffordshire Rowley Regis
this marriage isnt right
15 April 1894 St Thomas Dudley
James Batty 55 widower miner Bufferey lane John Batty dead contractor
Ann Green 57 widow Bufferey lane Thomas Cartwright dead miner
banns
X both
Wit- W? Faulks? / ??? Maitland
I better delete Ann until sure

I agree this can't be right and I really thought we were getting somewhere but I'm at a complete loss.
I think we've looked at all the bap/marriage entries that could've helped so I don't think we've anywhere else to look at the moment.
Many thanks for checking those look-ups.
Kind regards
Adrian
