What a "hyggeligt" place to be.

And believe it or not that's a compliment

I've been a member for a couple of months now, and wanted to say what a nice bunch you lot are, as well as being very knowlegable on all matters genealogical.

As for what "hyggeligt" means, heres Wikipedia's take on it, with a few snoopysue corrections:

"Hygge" is a word that apparently only available in Danish and Norwegian and is strongly associated with the Danish national character. "Hygge" (comfort) as a noun includes both a feeling, an atmosphere and an action. The word is also used in compounds, eg Christmas (hygge) atmosphere. Furthermore, it exists as a verb, eg "Come, let us (hygge) enjoy ourselves!". And as adjective, eg "A (hyggeligt) cosy house with." Although cosy doesn't quite cut it for me, it's more about an atmosphere or feeling that's nice´, cosy's more small scale like a mug of hot chocolate in front of the fire, whereas hyggeligt can be small or large scale.

Anyway what I'm trying to say is you lot are a good bunch, and always cheerful, there's none of that telling people off you see on other forums (and if there occaisionally is then it's done in a good natured way). So thanks. :-)

So this place is like a box full of puppies?

Or a fridge full of Guinness?

Or a Saturday night where the Bogan Ranga Left Wing Feminist is kicked out of office! (That is wishfull thinking for the Australian Federal Election this Saturday).

Okay, so maybe I gushed a little, I can't help it if I'm a hopeless romantic. I can be cynical at times too, you know!!

I think it is amazing how different Cats are don't you!
They all have their own little personalities.
A few years ago I visited a lady who had a couple of cats
one of them was the most beautiful tortishell I think it was the dau
and the mother was a grey long haired cat, both beautiful lovely natured cats,
I love ginger ones too.
Not sure you ever own a cat, I think they have a few homes they visit
