Jan has posted details of a Joseph Lane born 1818 Knighton Worcs. with son Charles Lane born 1839 Knighton Worcs.

I have a Charles Lane born 1842 Newnum, Herefordshire who married a Priscilla Yates on 12/8/1878 at St. Edmunds Dudley
on marriage cert. he is noted as Fruiterer and father Joseph and Priscilla Yates father is Charles Yates .
I think they are same for following reasons:-
a) On 1861 Census a Charles Lane aged 21 is in lodgings at King Street Dudley Staffs. born Knighton Worcs.
b) Knighton Worcs. is on border of Herefordshire and Worcs. ( cannot find a Newnum but original of Census is hard to read).
My Charles died c.1876 and Priscilla married George Davenport in 1878 before dying herself in 1884 when George Married a Harriett Robinson ( cannot find this marriage but Census details are posted)

Found that marriage for Harriett Ann Robinson to George Davenport but could not find Harriett before marriage to George and she has children called Robinson :-

(just tweaked a little so the links work Mumbles )

Between Knighton on Teme and Lindridge is a place called Newnham Bridge which could be the place noted Newnum Herefirds. on Census. Hereford and Worcs. border is all round this area

going to leave the other Charles on for now
as that dob for the one with Priscilla on census concerns me
