Can we find a marriage and her maiden name pls

On the 1861 census Ann J is down as 14 and looking at the census it looks like 1y so her birth would be around 1860 not 1847

I can't find him pre marriage --- as he was obviously a very clever person, possibly with some odd ideas, could he have decided to call himself Euphrates when he went to Cambridge and was therefore married as something shorter like "John"

As he and Ann came from Nottinghamshire and first child was born there -- do we need to look for marriage there between a male Hardwick and an Ann

I noticed that the name Webster appears in 1871. The age is right.
