Where would you go?

If time travel were possible, where would you travel to?

I personally think I'd love to go back to world war two, just to see what it was really like to live through an air raid. But I'm also torn between that and going back to 1916 to see the Easter Rising in Dublin, and all of the war for independence and the formation of the Irish Free State.

Tudor times would be interesting, true.

Another place I'd like to visit would be Ancient Athens, around the time of Aristotle and to see the Academy. It'd be interesting for me, as a philosopher, to hear the Republic and meno being spoken about.

Oh goodness!
Only if...
So many times Id like to go back to, certainly not war times mind. :wtf:
No Id be too scared and would feel sorry for all, probably the enemy too!

I think I would want to be with Sarah Wain, married Jacob Round, eventually! who had all her children then just got married to their dad and died from Erysipilis(?spelling) Wish I could look after her.

Oh romans... but a rich one :)

Philosopher by trade or thought Brickwalls? If thats the right term?

I suppose that it used to be a trade of mine, I've recently finished a degree in Philosophy, so now it is just an interest. Unless I can convince someone to publish some articles :p

I take it Sarah Wain is a relative of yours Jo? I do think it would be nice to go back and look after a relative, or indeed just meet one. A relative of mine was KIA during WWII, it would've been amazing to meet him. Although I'd be wary of going back and altering history.

I do agree that there are so many times that it would be nice to go back to though. I can think of quite a few, and whilst some of them are major world events, others are things that haven't really affected how the world is now in the slightest.

I think the only thing I would change in history is I'd go back and make compulsorary registration, with as much detail as possible, start in about 1000 AD. Just to make our lives easier

I would love to travel with James Cook on his three voyages.

What amazing adventures they were!

Or Pioneer Victoria in Australia. The Gold Rush would have been a fantastic thing to experience with people from all over the world making Australia their home.
