Cafe's and cramming em in!

Went to a cafe today and not going to mention the name....but I wasn't impressed.
It was cheek on jowl!
You could hear all the convo of your neighbour
and when they were quite loud....it was awful!

The place was quaint but too cramped for me.
Why can't they just accept that cafe's should be a haven from the hustle
and bustle , a place to snatch a refreshing half hour not too feel claustraphobic
and uncomfortable.

And....I think £4.50 was a little too much for a ham sarnie!!
Think it was that I am like the queen....I don't carry money!

I don't like that kind of cafe, some even start collecting your cups before you have finished our way so they can get a few more in.

I'm going to take a wild guess at this being about a chain of coffee shops, based on the £4.50 for a sandwich.

To be honest, I've not had many problems with them cramming us in in Manchester, although that may be due to the fact that every second shop seems to be a coffee chain outpost.

As for Annie's complaint of them collecting cups, that is annoying. Although not as annoying as not being able to sit down because half of the tables are occupied by people who finished their drinks a good 10 - 15 minutes ago and are just sat chatting. Normally about the new dress they just bought from Primark.

It's called the Retro Bar now, if it's where I'm thinking of. But no, I've never been.

Is it opposite UMIST/Sackville Street?
