dont like the cold think ultraViolet light will kill them one of the reasons you fold the quilt or blankets to the bottom of the bed during the day rather than making it to let the cold get at the matteress

Just don't shower or wash for a few days and wreck their appetite

or

Drink yourself into oblivion so they get alcohol poisoning if they bite you

or

Place little chairs and tables with little umbrellas on your partner when they are asleep so they can dine al fresco.

I've heard that thing about folding the quilt down at the bottom, although I believe that is more to kill dust mites. They like warm areas, so by letting the bed breathe it reduces the heat etc.

If you do end up with the little nasties, then steam cleaning the mattress, bed, bedding etc should kill them.

Not sure if this would be of any use in killing bed bugs, but it certainly is cool. It uses UV-C light to damage the DNA of mites and other things to prevent them from reproducing. It's like a new form of biological warfare.

I do like Mark's idea of turning your partner into an al fresco dining opportunity though. Although I can sense that only working with middle class bed-bugs.
