The following is from http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =535951977 but I cant find the entry on the 1871 census. I am looking for Charles and Selina Tanner using findmypast. I tried an address search too but couldnt find the street name. Can someone help me find it and tell me what you used in your search. Thanks!!

Try Turner

I always try looking for the youngest in the family as they are most likely to have the right age and place of birth/still be living where they are born so

FMP
Emily
T*er (to give room for error in transcribing)
1871+-1 (to give room for error in birth year)
Lancashire

Then look for Warrington

Bingo!

think it is down as Turner we transcribe as per the actual image
and it is always helpful to add in what it has been transcribed as on another site
so we can find it
this occasion trans as Turner

completed thanks, I did try looking for turner before but too many responses. The wildcard tip was helpful, i only ever use them to complete a name like t* but obviously way too many returns unless you can be really specific with the rest of the info.
