Rosetta Hall was b 1871 West Browmich

I ordered her birth certificate as her mother was widowed in the 1871 Census:

Sarah Ann Hall 24 - Widow (Mar crossed out)
Frederick 1
Rosetta 2mths

Her father looks like and Abel, and her maiden name was Hall too.

So i look for marriages between Sarah Ann(e) Hall and Abel Hall - there is only 1 listed in 1879! , after the birth (Kings Norton - Volume: 6c Page: 547

So why would there be a "formerly Hall", listed on the birth cert as if she was married?

So... maybe she was married, the her husband died, then she had a child with Abel Hall, then got married for a second time to him??

hmm does say Marr also Lodger is crossed out and says something above it (maybe boarder)? - whats the diff?

I think boarder may mean a relation.

Hmm then why does Sarah Ann Hall show as Marr crossed out and then widow above?

Interesting you say that, as I've several cases of boarders being related, not sure about lodgers though.

There is a marriage for Abel Hall in 1867 but not her!
