Holiday: where and why!!

I'll start the ball rolling
It's a whistle stop tour
Starting in Weymouth for some silly sailing competition (hubby's choice), then off to my sisters in Wiltshire for a couple of days - see the new house and the pregnant belly!!
After that we wend our way slowly up to North Wales to my parents place, stopping by Ironbridge and maybe RAF Cosford on the way north. After a few days there it's back down south to catch the plane home. There will be a trip to Cheshire Oaks (not my idea - honest), time for a bit of Imelda shopping. So if you blink you'll miss us
That's the where, as for the why - living in Denmark means that when I head back west it always means a lot of driving and trying to pack too much in to too few days. We try to visit something that isn't too close to the family, otherwise we'd end up seeing the same things every time. Last year we stopped off at The Black Country Museum.
Thats me - what's everyone else doing?

The other half likes planes, and seeing as we've been talking about visiting the last few times we've been in blighty seemed like a good idea. Personally I'd prefer to spend a bit more time in Ironbridge - but we'll see.

That might be an idea - I haven't been there for years. Show hubby some real hills! (The highest point in Denmark translates as "Sky Mountain" and is the dizzying height of approx 160m

Here on the west coast of Denmark it's really flat, so it's good to get a hill fix every now and then

)

I know some of the area well - around Oswestry and down to Shrewsbury (a favorite saturday run out), I think we'll probably drive up through Bridgenorth, but I'll need to check it on the map. I'm not sure what the other half will think about too many small country roads (steering wheel being on the right side and all!). He'll probably be doing a lot of the driving as back plays up if I drive too much (can hope there is cruise control in the hirecar).
Last year we were over at Barmouth and did some walking around the Mawdach Estuary. Probably wont have time this year, as it's going to be hectic!!!

I wouldn't say I know the area well, mostly visiting relies. But we did stay a lot in Wolverly (there's a good pub there!!!). I've always had a soft spot for the BC, as it's where the family come from. I was born in Sutton Coldfield, and then we moved to North Wales, so most of my memories come from visiting family. I remember going to Dartmouth Park and Sandwell Valley in West Bromwich a lot, my Grandparents lived round the corner from the park. There aren't many left in the area now though.
