You lost me NL -- who do you want on the earlier census ? Knowing Thomas Hackett is a chainmaker doesn't narrow it daown much or have I missed the vital clue?

Ok I would like to find Thomas Hackett on earlier census
to see if we can link him into the Hacketts on BCC
there are a couple of poss Thomas's but not convinced they are he.

I think there may be some connection with Mary Ann Westwood and Hacketts
but have lost it on that one
but on the thread for her some Hacketts are mentioned

We don't have a lot to go on NL -- a Lookup would give a father whch would help

This is the only one that is a chainmaker, Thomas also as a son Josiah.

I think somehow this Josiah may link to Benjamin Hackett b 1808 father of Sarah Hackett
Sarah marries Thomas Westwood dau Mary Ann westwood who marries Samuel Priest
Samuel is son of Mary Maria Priest who married Thomas Hackett
