I have received the birth certificate for my G Grandfather, Charles Townsend b1863 Fareham. His Mother is stated as Mary Townsend formerly Stiggants.

I have found my G Grandfather in the 1881 Census living at 36 Vicoria Street, Plaistow.

I cannot find a marriage entry for Thomas Townsend b1826 to Mary Stiggants b1837.

Can anyone help please?

Its the marriage between Thomas Townsend and Mary Townsend (nee Stiggants) I cannot find.

Its always best to post the full details that you have, in case in earlier census's they are living with in laws.

This looks like them in 1871, without Charles. So where is Charles in 1871.
