Hi Graham

Ok you need to ensure that one of the kids is born when civil registration began
so think it is sept 1837 so can you give us one of the kids names you are going to look for and we can tell you which registration office to go for.

There are 2 ways to do this

1. apply via the local registry office either via post- in person - or on line

2. send a request to the GRO in southport with the volume and ref no on

so tell us which kid and we will guide you further.
If it is around Dudley I go on line via their online dept -
ps have you checked the census all the ones that have this couple on just incase they got her inlaws living with them...

do you think by the way that the Worton for mary was correct?

Ok do you know of the bmsgh site?

If you go on there it has coverage for some of the areas up to certain dates and is very helpful for birth marriage and death info
so I found this one
1844
CLIFT Margarett Oldbury Sandwell Register Office OLD/6/239

So looks a good one

You can either apply via Sandwell register office send a cheque and the form of the bmsgh site for this certif.
Or go on line via the GRO service or again send them a cheque
still stuck holla
