ARC TBC - Completely blocked in genealogy research

Hello,

I am posting this message this evening as I am completely blocked in my genealogy research at the moment.
My name is Frederic, I am 27 and I live in France.
In the early 30's, the aunt of my father, Lucienne Marie AUBRY, left France to marry somebody whose surname is BARKER.
At the moment I am looking for her son who would still be alive at the moment and who lives in the United Kingdom.

Let me sum up the situation and the research I have already done :

- I spent hours on the FreeBMD and Ancestry.co.uk websites and found a registry entry regarding the death record of the aunt of my father, who died in 1938, aged 39.
- Then, I ordered a Death certificate of her aunt to the General Register Office and found information regarding her husband : she married Mr Henry BARKER and they lived in Streatham (Greater London).
- Next, I decided to look after information regarding her wedding and found an entry in the registries in which it is shown that she married Mr Henry BARKER in 1931 in Wandsworth.
- According to this information, then I could locate somebody whose name is Frederick Henry BARKER and who was born in 1936 in Wandsworth as well.

I am 100 per cent sure of these results and this is why I started to look for people whose name is Frederick H BARKER like in the registries that I found in the White Pages a few weeks ago.
For instance, I sent a letter a few days ago to somebody with that name in London and I got a reply this evening by email, reading he was not the person I was looking for.

I am completely lost and also completely blocked as I do not know where to go know to get more information regarding this person who would still be alive nowadays.
Indeed, I have spent hours on FreeBMD and Ancestry.co.uk websites to try to find out more information but I could not find any information regarding a possible birth, marriage or death certificate available on the Net.

Do you have an idea regarding the other actions I could take to find out more information ?

I know that this person exists (or had existed) but I can no longer find any track of him, even from his father.

Many thanks advance.

Regards,

Frédéric

Dear peterd,

First of all, thanks for your reply.
This is on this site where I went first.
I have sent a letter to the Frederick H Barker listed in London on the electoral roll and got a negative reply a few days ago (not the right person, unfortunately).
I am going to try the other one listed in Lancashire in a few days but I think it is unfortunate to have to pay for this information.

Another question : is there somebody who would know if the electoral roll on the 192.com does not display the age of a person by mistake ?
I mean that I have only found two people on the 192.com website with the name I am looking for and who are over 65 years old.
Is it possible that the three other ones can be in the same average (mistake from the electoral roll, forgotten detail, etc...) ?

Thanks in advance !

Fred

Hello,

Mmm.... Yes, that will be definitely a brickwall that has not yet been solved out.

Thanks a lot for the support provided anyway.
