I was having a convo with a dear old pal today
and I have never met them but I thought ......as you do.....You know they could be anyone!
They could be talking to me from their psychiatric ward in a very fitted coat surrounded by men
in white coats!

:o :o

Scary
There is this blurring of the line between the cyber world
and the real world

and it sort of thins the manners I think, anything goes sort of attitude.. :?

Richard Bernsein in the New York times says
" What the Internet and its cult of anonymity do is to provide a blanket a sort of immunity
for anybody who wants to say something about anybody else, and it would be difficult in this
sense to think of a more morally deformed exploitaiton of the concept of free speech"

What do you think?
Do you feel happy with this whole online business

I know what you mean Northern Lassie.
Dealing with someone we cannot see is a breeding ground for lies. You know about their age and their looks!
They can pretend to be whatever thay want. Some even lie about their gender.
The thing is, we can never be sure about which is true, and which is fabricated. All we could rely on are their words, and those very words aren't even spoken- they're typed!!
The fact that you cannot see who you're chatting or exchanging emails with only intensifies the sense of mystery behind the other person.
Is it good or is it bad? :?
