45rpm Vinyl Records

I was doing some housework this morning (as it's the first of the month  ) and on the radio they were playing Long Live Love by Sandie Shaw. This got me thinking of when in the 60s a crowd of us from the youth club went to London for day. There were these recording booths where you popped in your money, sang a song, I attempted to sing Long Live Love and when you finished singing, you had a recorded 45rpm vinyl record which I've still got - now where did I put the old turnable.....

Anybody else remember these booths?

He's here again digressing  How long is your nose now Pinocchio Rob, telling porkies about not remembering the 60s.

Very observant of you MarkC picking up my spelling mistake. By the looks of your avatar you must remember the cylinder phonograph

Yes peterd, now you come to mention that, it was in a booth at an airport in London where I made my one and only #1 hit. Went into retirement after with all the royalties I got.

Forgot to say NL. You're having problems with the frames on your glasses. Me thinks you need a new prescription for the lenses as well

We used to have little portable record players we would lug from house to house and listen to whatever the latest 45's were.

My mum had a "Stereogram" where you stacked them up like a jukebox and played up to a dozen without having to get up out of your chair. Talk about mod cons!!

I remember hte 60's very well. I also remember the early 70's where as I got older, the school dresses seemed to get shorter.
