Saying Hi!

Hello all, am new to this site. Have been using first genesreunited and then ancestry for about 18 months. Have got about 1700 names on my tree now - the more it expands, the more distant relatives ask me to trace their line back too! Am quite adept at getting back to the late 1700s now, but have never gone as far as visiting parish records offices or the london archives - it all sounds quite scary, and time consuming (as if this hobby isn't time consuming enough already!).
I'm a mum of three, work part time looking after the office side of my husband's martial arts business, the rest of the time trying to keep up with life in general! There never seems to be enough hours in the day!
Does anyone on here make regular visits to the records office at Kew - would anyone be prepared to do a lookup for me there? I'm stuck on someone who seems to have been on a lighthouse ship, but never appeared on a census!! I need to find the lighthouse ships records if that's possible!
