Elsie Willetts, wife of Victor L. Hipkiss, was the second child of Enos Willetts. Elsie reported she was born at 173 Waterfall Lane, Oldhill, Staffordshire on 19 May 1883. Before coming to the US she lived on Olive St, Barrow in Furnace. Elsie reported they arrived at Ellis Island on 1 April 1893 aboard the SS Umbria. This is confirmed on the ships manifest, except the last name is recorded as Willeck, and the Umbria arrived on 10 April not the first(Enos, 30y, Elizabeth, 33y, Frank,11y, Elsie, 9y, and Albert 7y). The family is recorded on the 1900, 1910 and 1920 US census in Newark, New Jersey. Would like to see if this is a connection to the the Enos Willetts family on the BCC and assist in making any corrections needed to the data on the BCC. Elsie reported Enos Willetts was born on 29 December 1859 Burmingham, her mother Elizabeth Williams was born on 28 May 1855 in Oldhill and Enos and Elizabeth where married on 18 Jan 1880 in Dudley.
Thanks

They left Liverpool on the 1st April 1893.
10 days is a bit excessive for the trans atlantic. Must have been a rough trip....
Family are travelling on ticket 28724 and the name Willetts.
Her father, mother and two siblings are on the embarkation manifest.
No other usefull information in the manifest.
They should be together in the 1891 census?

In the 1891 Census they are living at 54 Amon Street, Barrow in Furness, Lancashire. (It is now part of Cumbria).
All 5 who boarded the ship are there.
