Can someone help please with a possible look up.
William Downing C1801 had eleven children starting with Charles 1823 and finishing with Elizabeth 1843.
IGI list mother on Bpts as Elizabeth. Birth Certifs for the last three children born after 1837 list mother as Croft or Cross.
The only Marriage for William I can find on or after 1823 is Elisabeth Bevans.

Area is Dudley
Birth year for Elizabeth is Abt 1804

There's a Marriage at West Bromwich 20.2.1816 for William Downing and Elizabeth Rhodes. The Marriage in 1823 to Elizabeth Bevan was in Rugeley, a bit far out for a Dudley couple. HTH Linell.

Thanks all for your efforts, all I need to find now is maiden name for Elizabeth and marriage date.
I am fairly sure that Samuels Birth Certif.shows mother as Cross but unable to confirm or find Marriage

I have Birth Certs for all 3 born after 1837 and they all show Elizabeth Downing fomerly Cross.
