I have looked what should be the 2nd marriage up for Phoebe Billingham

She is born abt 1808
Her first marriage is in 1827 and brother Solomon is Wit.--marriage to Joseph Westwood
on the 1851 he is on the next page on census from Joseph Westwood and Phebe
living Lomey Town.

Then she marries I think Henry Southwick and is on the census
with him in 1861 ...he is down as her nephew!
on the 1871 they are man and wife.
Marriage is 25 Dec 1861.

her age on the marriage is 10 years out
and ....her father is a Matthew Billingham

he should be an Emmanuel Billingham

I think it is an error on the certif
see plenty of those on look ups I do

I think her father is Emmanuel and for some reason a Matthew has been entered.
Wits on marriage were southwicks and I didnt note them ....

any thoughts

The Vicar's Notes in 1857 say Henry Southwick was a Widower - Nailer No Church. Children Maria 18 amat Issac Southall, (think we have them.) Joseph 14 Nails No Church, David No School Large Head and Enoch Can't see any Billingham connection here Linell.

I think this Matthew is a red herring
why would her father be a Matthew

that wit on that 1827 I am pretty sure is her bro Solomon.
She lies about her age on marriage
so maybe lied about father

and census lie about who Henry Southwick is
then in 1871 she is there with correct age
