Does it make you sad?

I just wondered how other people feel when they find out stuff about their ancestors.

Today I realised that one of my ancestors had 6 children, but two of those died in infancy, one of whom was a twin. This is in about 1850. And then I found a woman who died leaving a child no older than 3 years old.
Maybe it's because I have two young children of my own, but I just can't imagine how hard that must have been. And as this was much more common then than it is now, i suppose I'm going to see it a lot, and feel sad a lot!
