that then links her to William

was it Charlotte Rudge

Just picking bits from this census, but I thought the address could be Short Cross?

1841 Islington, Halesowen
RUDGE, James M 65 1776 Shropshire Nailer
RUDGE, Ann F 65 1776 Shropshire
RUDGE, Ann F 13 1828 Shropshire --was she grandaughter of James??
RUDGE, Thomas M 20 1821 Shropshire
FLORANCE, Mary F 20 1821 Shropshire
FLORANCE, Elen F 0 (1 months) 1841 Shropshire
HADLEY, John M 15 1826

This looks like a possible marriage for them,
marriage 1850
RUDGE Thomas FLORENCE Mary A Halesowen, St John the Baptist Dudley Register Office 014/002/123

1851 Census
Birmingham ? Halesowen
Thomas Rudge, head,32, Nailor
Mary, wife, 32, Nailor
Ellen Florence, lodger, 9,
All born Halesowen

Still doesnt help but may fill in a gap

Possible Marriage? 1863?
FLORENCE Ellen BRADLEY Thomas H Halesowen, St John the Baptist Dudley Register Office 014/003/119

FreeBMD has it as Thomas Haley Bardley

1881 Census
Islington Halesoewn
Thomas Bradley, head, w, 55, Nail Forger
Noah, son, 12,
Thomas Hadley Bradley, 7
All born Halesowen

next door but one are
Thomas Rudge, head, 65, Nail Forger
Mary Ann, wife, 66,Nail Forger
Henry Perry, boarder, 19, Carter
\Frank Jones, Lodger, W, 63, Nail Forger,. Cradley
\Edward Wooldridge, Lodger, Mar, 48, Nail Forger, The Lye
