Hello Pink Posey
If you want to do the looking up yourself then give us some general ideas of the facts that you have eg rough timings, certificates, areas and what access you have to archives eg only internet /visiting record offices etc.
If you want some help actually looking things up then as BCWench says you will need to supply at least some facts to start with eg names/ ages /places of birth/ marriages etc.

The census records can be a great help, but as the others have said, you need a few facts to start with. If you know the names of your grandfather's parents and if his birth was early enough, you might find his birth family on the later census. This could give your great-grandfather's approximate date of birth and place of birth. Often it's then possible to trace families back through the census as far as 1841.
Hope this helps,
Di

Hi all
My great grandfathers name was Edward Archer Turner and he was born on 30th September 1880.
His fathers name was Thomas George Turner and his mothers name was Susan Turner (Maiden name Cooper)
At present this is all the information i have on his mum and dad. I have found that they were married in the quarter of March 1876 but i havent ordered the certificate as yet to give me more information.
I want to find out if Thomas and Susan had other children but not sure how i would do this. I have access to the internet and i have local records office near to me. My grandfather grew up in Nottingham but my great grandfather (Edward) was born in Biggleswade and as far as i know he didnt live in Nottingham, spent most of his time in the London area.
I can get access to find my past & anestery web sites free at my local library so will be able to look details up, but i am just not sure where/how to look to see if Edward had brothers and sisters.
If you could point me in the right direction to locate this information i woudl appreciate it
Many thanks

Remember there are no stupid questions so ask away! -
Just a thought
it could be that Susan didn't die and he remarried a Sarah but that the enumerator/transcriber got it wrong! Having said that the presence of Step children does suggest a remarriage
